Shichida Flash Cards For Early Childhood Learning
Research has shown that childhood learning plays an important role to build a sound foundation. Owing to this, we witness transformation in the teaching styles of teachers worldwide. An immense importance is being laid to childhood learning, which has the capacity to influence the child’s future learning. Now, people are getting awareness about the significance of early childhood learning, which starts not from age 5, but as early as 3 months.
Owing to the importance of early childhood learning, many pre-school academies, and institutes are opening up around the globe. However, very few are worth mentioning. Since most of these pre-schools are not only making money out of fooling innocent parents, but they are also not aware of the basic purpose of a pre-school. A pre-school should use an instructing method, which is meant to prepare the toddlers for extensive learning routine of school by activating their left and right brain. However, many of these schools are more like day-care centers, which keep the kids busy, but hardly do anything to nourish their brains, which eventually could help them develop their innate abilities.
However, there is a unique method, which is being used by some pre-school academies and institutes to develop the innate abilities of the kids. This method is the Shichida method, one similar method is used to help small children to utilize their own capabilities. This method was being founded by Professor Dr. Makoto Shichida, who believed that children are born geniuses, and his method just helps in stimulating the inborn genius in young children. Since things learnt in young age are learnt effortlessly, so instructors and teachers today are utilizing this ability of children to its fullest.
The most popular tool used in Shichida method is Shichida flash cards. This method of showing Shichida flash cards to children is getting popular in not only U.S, but also all around the globe. Shichida flash cards help young children to develop both left and right brain since an efficient learning cannot be possible without activating both right and left brain. As the right and left brain are interconnected, so that method should be used to teach young children, which triggers both sides of the brain. However, without knowing what are the functions of right and left brain, people cannot really understand the importance of this method and the Shichida flash cards. Therefore, before moving ahead, you had better look at the functions of the right and left-brain.
Actually, right brain processes pictures and images, and works instantly, while left brain processes sound and language, and works logically and comparatively slow requiring a lot of repetition. So, Shichida method keeps the function of both sides of the brain in view and that’s why introduces Shichida flash cards to help the children to use both parts in learning. People who are using this method are satisfied with their results, as it helps children in recognizing and remembering what you showed them, hence helps them building a strong memory. Many renowned schools are now using it to not only enhance the learning capacity of children, but also polish their innate abilities.
In using this technique of showing flash cards to young children, you need to keep a few things in mind. First of all, make sure that when you show a flash card to your child, you say the word at exactly same time. When you show the image, or picture, and say the word simultaneously, you activate both the right and the left brain respectively. Moreover, keep the cards at an arm’s length from your child and slightly higher than his/her eye-level, so that the child could easily see the flash card.
Furthermore, start with 100 cards, and then increase it slowly up to 250 and finally make it reach 1000. However, make sure that you show these cards in as less time as possible, not more than 1 second in any case, and do not repeat the cards during one session at least. You can buy a number of different types of flash cards ranging from objects, shapes, pictures, multi dots, mathematics, alphabets, etc.
Repeat this activity 2 to 3 times a day, and make sure the child is relaxed, for which you can take short breaks moreover, make it more fun oriented. However, don’t expect instant results.
