Every number on this page
Ten cards, one to ten pumpkins. Each card asks how many there are, counts along out loud while each pumpkin lights up, then says the answer. The pumpkins always sit in rows of three, so eight looks like three, three and two every time.

For grown-ups
Encourage your child to point at each pumpkin as it lights up. Touching each one exactly once is the real skill here, and losing count halfway through and starting again from one is completely normal at three and four.
Common questions
What age is pumpkin counting for?
Three to five. Most children count to five around three, and to ten a little later.
Why does the page count out loud?
Hearing the numbers while each pumpkin lights up shows your child that the last number counted is how many there are, which is the idea counting is built on.
