What can a 3 or 4 year old learn here?
This page collects the activities on Flashcards Kids that suit children aged 3 to 4. There are 26 letter pages, A to Z, where a child hears the letter, sees words that start with it, and plays a find-the-letter game. Alongside them are picture decks for colors, shapes, animals, fruits and body parts. Everything is free, works on a phone or tablet, and needs no login.

Which activity should we start with?
If your child is brand new to letters, start with the letter of their own name. A child will work at their own initial long after they have lost interest in A, and once one letter is familiar the rest stop looking like decoration and start looking like letters.
If letters are already familiar, Match the Letter is the better first stop. Picking a letter out of three is harder than being shown one, and it tells you quickly which shapes your child is still guessing at — M and W, or b and d, are the usual pair.
For a child who is not ready for letters at all, Same or Different and the picture groups game need no reading whatsoever. Both practise looking carefully, which is the skill letters will need later, and Numbers 1 to 5 covers counting real objects rather than reciting.
Ten to fifteen minutes is a full session at this age, and two short sittings in a week beat one long one. Nothing here keeps score, times your child, or ends in a fail state, so stopping halfway costs nothing — the page will be in the same place tomorrow.
For grown-ups
Children of this age recognise pictures long before they read words, so every choice on this page is a picture first and a label second. Ten to fifteen minutes is plenty at one sitting. Going through the alphabet in order matters far less than going back often — a letter your child met last week is worth more revisited than a new one rushed through today.
